I don’t eat at Teak Neighborhood Grill as often as I should. I love the burgers and comfort food, so I’m glad to finally be back.
We were meeting our friends from A Lo Cubano Kitchen for dinner at Teak. Marcela and I arrived first and asked for a table in the open-air but covered area.
On a Previous Visit to Teak
On a previous visit, we ate the Philly Steak Flatbread and American Cheeseburger. The Philly has shaved rib eye, white American cheese, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, green peppers, and some green stuff that I picked off.
Does it taste anything like a Philly Cheesesteak? Absolutely not. The better question, however, is how was it? Well, it’s excellent, but a cheesesteak it is not.
The American Cheeseburger comes with American cheese, bacon, onions, and mayo. As always, I skipped out on the lettuce and tomato…you’re welcome.
And We’re Back!
By the time Lisa and Yojan arrived, I’d had some time to digest the menu. We huddled on the starters and came up with what I think was a great lineup: OMG Chips, Soft Pretzel Rolls, and the Cheeseburger Flatbread.
The Soft Pretzel Rolls were no-brainers. They come with dipping cheese and honey mustard sauce. I can’t imagine visiting again without ordering these fellas.
The OMG Chips are not for everyone’s tastes. The housemade chips are topped with blue cheese crumbles, bacon, and balsamic reduction drizzle. The drizzle is what makes this snack unique and, at the same time, what will turn folks off.
The Cheeseburger Flatbread: American cheese, ground beef, diced onions, pickles, yellow mustard, and ketchup. Is it good? Yes. Does it taste like a cheeseburger? No.
I’d eat this again in a heartbeat. Domino’s has a very similar limited-edition cheeseburger pizza, which I also adore. This is perfect for snacking while mindlessly watching YouTube.
There is an award-winning chili on the menu, and you can even get chili cheese fries. I’d suggest you ask for an order of chili and then some of their killer garlic bistro fries.

Yes, Teak has an Underground Burger Menu, which will brought to you only when you say the magic password. The menu comes in a wooden box, and after I opened it, I felt like Indiana Jones with the Ark of the Covenant.
Inside, a menu reveals an extensive listing of specialty burgers available only to those who possess this highly coveted artifact. And you know I did? I ordered off the regular menu!
That’s right, it was the Drunken Monk Burger: Angry Orchard onion jam, roasted cherry tomatoes, smoked bacon, herb mayo, provolone cheese, and Teak chips topped with melted white cheddar cheese on a pretzel bun. While I’m not a fan of a bunch of stuff piled on my burger, there was a burger master layering flavors to create this masterpiece.
The Drunken Monk Burger is not something I’d probably ever order again at Teak Neighborhood Grill. I’d like to eventually try one of their sandwiches, which is a problem cause so many burgers are calling out to me.
We also ate the garlic herb parmesan chicken wings, but they were devoured before the “photoshoot.”
