Riverwalk Trust’s Burger Battle 2011: Bigger and Beefier

Participating restaurants:

Big City Tavern

Blue Plate at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Capital Grille

Chef Allen’s Burger Bar

Georgie’s Alibi (last year’s Winner)

Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill

Hard Rock Café

Johnny V Restaurant

Morton’s The Steakhouse

Pelican Landing at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six Marina

Rare Las Olas

Riverside Hotel

Tarpon Bend

Timpano Chophouse & Martini Bar

The judges (I’m one of them) will award one burger the title of “Best Burger in Fort Lauderdale”. There will also be a “Fan’s Favorite” award chosen by the attendees at the event.

So what else is going on?

A local celebrity Krystal slider eating contest, a French Fry Bar and Live music.

What do tickets include?

For $40 (prepaid online) attendees will receive an array of burger samples from local restaurants, plus three drink tickets to be used for any Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Jack Daniel’s Lynchburg Lemonade or Bud Light. You will also have an opportunity to vote for your favorite burger.

and Is there a VIP area?

VIP tables will be available offering open bar, table service, comfortable seating in a VIP area, signage with name or company name, giveaways, plus access to all the Riverwalk Trust Burger Battle action as well as VIP gift bags. These are priced at $1,000 but include 10 tickets, and are of course limited. A smaller amount of individual VIP tickets will be available for $125.

Where to get them?
Last year folks drove me crazy because they waited for the last minute to purchase tickets. I suggest you don’t wait and get them asap here.

Check out my post about last year’s Burger Battle!

I hope I'm stil in South Florida by then! I went last year and it was a great event. Was it bad that I actually really liked the deep-fried burger?

So excited about the upcoming Burger Battle Bash. Last year was fabulous! It will be interesting to see what the chefs come up with this year!

It is such a cool event…tickets sell out fast, the food is awesome and it is just great fun!

Been there, done that. For $40 I can get any burger in town, drinks that I actually like and table service. I can’t get excited about it.

These restaurants must be total suckers. A slider contest, Wine and Food and Burger Battle over a 4 week period. And they get nothing out of it. Same people, and nobody gives any credence to “the winner” anyway. Like we were all flocking to Georgies’ last year for their burgers. Yeah right.
