Baptist Hospital In Kendall, Florida

Baptist Cup

I didn’t eat here because I had heard through the grapevine how wonderful it is. I happen to be in the hospital waiting room and was hungry. I’ve been here a few times before and just had coffee, never any food. I was with my Dad, my cousin Fred and my sister Michelle. The 3 dudes get Cheeseburgers while Michelle has the Tuna Salad. My father also orders a Hot Dog for good measure. I understand this is a hospital and they have “Healthy Eating Alternatives”.

Peppy's Picks

Peppy’s Picks

I was reading all about it in “Peppy’s Picks” but the quality of the food being served was pretty crappy. At least it wasn’t expensive. I will have to say this, the Buns for the Burger and Hot Dog were Wheat. Both Buns were fresh and tasted really good. The opposite of the food they were holding. The thickness of the Burger Patty was about a quarter of the Bun. The taste of the Burger was pretty bad and not even the Rickey’s Hot Sauce that we doused on it was able to salvage it.

The Jumbo Hot Dog was not Beef but a mix (a bad mix at that). My father took one bite and refused to eat anymore. We all did actually. The Fries were baked but were not fresh cut. Those type of fries don’t bake well, they need to be a little thicker (oh well).

Michelle’s Salad was the highlight of the meal to me. Just because of one thing she said. She took a bite of the Broccoli and said “This tastes like the Miami Seaquarium”. That comment forced Fred to also try the Broccoli but I stayed away (he was also dumbfounded), not from the Miami Seaquarium but from the Broccoli. It was such a bad experience I can’t even imagine reliving it in Smell-O-Vision.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.

I'm sorry, BB, you are out of your mind! That review is the funniest thing I've read in months.

    It is truly twisted.

Who in his right mind would review the Cafeteria at Baptist?!

As one who has spent entirely too much time eating there over the years, I hope somebody brings this review to their attention.

    Excellent job

Your review is on point! Us poor employees have to bring our own food or eat that crap. And its not so cheap anymore!!

  • Greetings. I think there is some thing incorrect with your on page links. I hope it is possible to fix it!
