The original My Favorite Chicken Sandwiches in South Florida list escaped from my brain and taste buds in February 2016. I was tired of top this lists, and best of those lists that are incomplete or a little too political to include things like fast food.
In the opinion of this Burger Beast, you can’t make a “real” great chicken sandwich list without including some of the offerings from places like Burger King or Wendy’s.
This is a real list for real people, not for those preoccupied with what a small vocal part of social media has to say. The chicken sandwiches listed below are great, and if you haven’t tried them all well, you’ve got some work to do.

This is the original My Favorite Chicken Sandwiches in South Florida list from February 2016.
- Burger King‘s Original Chicken Sandwich is a breaded long chicken patty topped with shredded lettuce and mayonnaise on a sesame seed bun; I skip the lettuce.
- Chick-fil-A’s Chicken Sandwich is a hand-breaded breast of chicken pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil & served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips.
- Moe Goes Light Sandwich is a grilled chicken breast topped with cheddar cheese, candied onion & Moe’s secret spread.
- gastroPod‘s Crispy Chicken Sammich – Chicken thigh, gochujang & homemade pickles on Martin’s potato roll
- John Martin’s Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is a breaded chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce & topped with blue cheese on a brioche bun.
- The Local’s Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich is a breaded chicken thigh with house hot sauce, pickles, & pimento cheese on a House-made Sally Lunn roll.
- PDQ‘s Spicy Buffalo Tenders Sandwich is two crispy chicken tenders on a brioche bun doused in buffalo bleu sauce with lettuce.
- Pincho Factory‘s Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is a chicken bread topped with gorgonzola cheese, two strips of bacon, buffalo sauce & caramelized onions on a locally baked bread roll.
- Shake Shack‘s Chick’n Shack is a breaded & fried chicken breast with lettuce, pickles & a slathering of herb mayo on Martin’s potato roll.
- Spring Chicken’s The Yardbird is a crispy chicken thigh, house pickles, & Southern sauce on a toasted potato bun.
- Wendy‘s Spicy Chicken Sandwich is a spiced breading fried chicken breast topped with lettuce, tomato & mayo.
You need to try the Nashville chicken sandwich at puttshack. Best one in Miami. I know that’s insane to say but try it.
Not insane at all; at one point, Cinebistro in Dolphin Mall had one of the best croquetas in town.
You need to try the chicken sandwich from sweet liberty. That easily gets my vote for best in miami
