Burger Beast’s Top 25 Burgers in Miami & South Florida List

Top 25 Burgers

My Top 25 Burgers in South Florida List is back. The last time I released one of these bad boys it was December of 2013 so its been quite a while.

I’ve learned a thing or two since then. The most important being that most folks try the “Top”  few Burgers on the list and never go beyond 3 or 4 Burgers if that. The only way to prevent that is to make an alphabetical list on the Best of the Best mentioning what part of the South Florida the restaurant is located at.

My list this time is more about turning you onto a bunch of new spots you may have never heard of. So let me stop wasting your time, you’ve got a list to get through.

    • 109 Burger Joint (Sweetwater): Sure you could order the regular thicker Burger patty from 109 Burger Joint but why do that when the Americanized Double Cheeseburger has the same amount of meat split into two thinners patties that carry the smokey flavor from the grill much better.

    • 180 Degrees at the DRB (Downtown Miami): The 50-50 Burger (Chorizo/Angus Beef Patty w/Queso Frito, Maduro, Fried Egg & Spicy Citrus Aioli) is an exciting and delicious merging of flavors. It really hit on all cylinders when my mouth got around the entire Burger and then experienced everything it had to offer.

    • Airport Cafe (Miami Springs): One of the first things you’ll take away from having a conversation with Chef Reuben Ruiz is that he thoroughly understands flavors and what works with what. There’s no other explanation for the crazy and tasty creations he makes daily. For example, check out this Honey Apple Whiskey Glazed Cheeseburger topped with Asiago Cheese, Chipotle Fried Onions, Black Pepper Parmesan Bacon, Creamy Garlic Ranch Coleslaw & Oven Roasted Mushrooms below.

    • Ariete (Coconut Grove): The Chug Burger (Double CheeseBurger w/House Pickles) from Ariete may sound like a simple & ordinary Burger but its flavors went well beyond my expectations.

    • Bird & Bone (South Beach): The Bird & Bone Burger (Double Angus Beef Patty, Bacon, Onion, Florida Cheddar Cheese, Pickle, Comeback Sauce on Brioche) is the relative new guy on the block but he’s got plenty of character and it reminds me in build of a double deck Hamburger minus the middle bun. Make sure to get some of that White Alabama BBQ Sauce and add it to the equation for a big time winner.

    • Blue Collar (MIMO): What’s a PMuff? A Portuguese Muffin of course. Blue Collar’s Real Juicy Cheeseburger comes on one topped with American Cheese and that’s it. Plus, it really is real juicy and also real good too.

    • Bocas Grill (Doral & Kendall): Bocas Grill’s Le Cesar (10 oz. of Wagyu Picahna Beef topped with Guasacaca Mayo, American Cheese & Chimichurri Sauce) broke my mind. It will not be repaired until I have 10 more of them, lol

    • Brgr Stop (Coconut Creek): BRGR Stop is all about over the top Burger creations but I went in and ordered a plain ol’ Bacon Cheeseburger which I loved. If you do need to go the crazy route, check out the FU-GHET-ABOUT-IT Meatball Burger.

    • Bull Market (Ft. Lauderdale): There are very few restaurants in South Florida who make a Juicy Lucy (Cheese Stuffed Burger). Bull Market’s version is at the top of that list. If it’s not the best one I’ve ever had it sure is damn close and that Bull Sauce is just the icing on the cake.

    • Burbowl Juicy Smashed Burgers (Coral Gables & Downtown Miami): When I first ordered Burbowl through a delivery service I had no idea it was gonna be that good. Two days later I found myself at their actual store location and again, I loved it. I invited them to participate in my 2016 Burger competition Hamburger House Party and they won the Judge’s Award for Best Burger, that says it all.

    • BurgerFi (Aventura, Coral Gables & a bunch of other locations): Man, I remember when there was only one location on BurgerFi a few years back and now they’re all over the world. I like to stick to my normal order of the Classic Cheeseburger (Double Meat & Cheese with BurgerFi Sauce) with a large order of Fresh Cut Fries. You’ll love it too.

    • Charm City Burger Company (Deerfield Beach): Most folks I know order the Good Ole (with or without American Cheese) or the Cowboy Style (Bacon, Cheddar, Mushrooms & Grilled Onions) Burgers at Charm. I’ve been known to get those on occasion too. BUT, any true Charm City Burger Company fans knows that The Emperor (American Wagyu Patty Melt w/Aged Gruyere Cheese, Truffled Aioli and Sauteed Mushrooms) is the Burger to get.

    • Cheeseburger Baby (Little Haiti, Miami Beach & Food Truck): Take a good look at the crust on that Burger, it’s gotta be driving you as mad as it does me. Great Burger at their restaurants, great Burger from their truck and great Burger in my stomach. True story.

    • Chefs on the Run (Homestead): Before I talk about the Chef La Burger, I need to drop some words of wisdom and tell you that if you’ve never visited Chefs on the Run you really should. Now that I got that off my chest, the Chef La Burger is such a beautiful Burger that I think Michelangelo would have painted it but I would have ended up doing him the favor of eating it. What can I say….I’m a good guy.

    • Doce Provisions (Little Havana): So the Short Rib Burger (Queso Frito, Truffle Aioli, Pickles, Tomato, & Frisee) is covered in that offensive Tomato & Frisee but it can be removed easily, leaving a beauty of a Burger behind with a mini slab of salty Queso Frito (Fried Cheese). So good.

    • Ends Meat (Hollywood): Before even trying the Burger at Ends Meat I knew it had two things going for it. The first being it’s named after one of my all time favorite comedians (Mitch Hedberg) and secondly, it’s made with the Burger Beast Beef Blend. Chef Kevin Dreifuss has gotten rave reviews for it and after I ate I could see why.

    • Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill (Ft. Lauderdale): There are plenty of Burgers on Gilbert’s menu but the Havarti Burger served on a toasted Garlic buttered English Muffin is the one to get. If you’re feeling frisky then stuff some fries into it too.

    • Hate Mondays Tavern (West Kendall): You’d drive right past Hate Mondays Tavern if you didn’t know it was there, I know I did. HMT is located in a warehouse district but once you get inside it’s got the groove of a juke joint with all of the music playing. The scent of BBQ certainly helps to cultivate that environment too with the awesome smoked Ribs and the Chargrilled Burger they sell. Order your Burger with Grilled Onions & Cheese then sit back and enjoy.

    • ITO’s (Miami Beach – North): This is Miami’s hidden Burger gem. Let me tell you what you need to do. First, drive to the unpopulated side of Miami Beach, next sit on ITO’s veranda and then order & enjoy the Billy Burger. Then repeat with all of your friends.

    • Jr’s Gourmet Burgers (Miami Springs): I’m partial to the Ouside Is In Burger and their regular Cheeseburger with Grilled Onions is very good but for me, the Sliders are tops. Jr’s Gourmet Burger has not only won my Hamburger House Party‘s People’s Vote Award two years in row (2015 & 2016) but they also won South Beach Wine & Food Festival’s Best Burger Award in 2017.

    • Latin House (Kendall): The Madlove Burger is big and full of flavor. It’s won 5 Burger Beast Burgie Awards for Burger of the Year. The Burger itself has a beautiful little crust on it. I have mine with just Cheese, Mushrooms & Onions. You can have yours however you like but I suggest going simple with the toppings. P.S.: They use the Burger Beast Beef Blend for their Burgers so you know it’s serious business here.

    • The Local (Coral Gables): You wanna talk about a spot whose Burger never disappoints, let’s talk The Local in Coral Gables. Chef Phil Bryant is a master Burger Craftsman. There’s really nothing more to be said than go and grab one of his Burgers. Annnnnnndddd you’re welcome!

The Local’s The Burger

    • The Lokal/KUSH (Coconut Grove & Wynwood): Who said Grass Fed Burger are flavorless? Not me. I’ve had all the Burgers on the menu but the Classic is where’s its at, even though I’m starting to warm up to the Royale with Cheese.

LoKal’s Bacon CheeseBurger

    • MEAT Eatery & Taproom (Boca Raton & Islamorada): The Inside Out Juicy Lucy Burger is stuffed with Bacon & Pimento Cheese. Let’s have a moment of silence while we ponder about how great that sounds…….

    • MOOYAH (Country Walk & Doral): You could choose to tarnish the purity of MOOYAH’s Burger greatness with Lettuce & Tomato but what kind of animal would you be? Order the Double with Cheese & MOOYAH Sauce. It’s the way the world intended.

MOOYAH’s Double Cheeseburger w/American Cheese & MOOYAH Sauce

    • PINCH Kitchen(MIMO): Let’s overlook the whole cut in half thing and the offensive Lettuce & Tomato snuck in at the bottom of their custom Burger Blend patty. This pretty little ditty hits all the right Burger notes. If I was a doctor I’d tell you to take 2 and call me in the morning. Dr. BEAST does have a nice ring to it, so gets ta steppin’.

PINCH Kitchen’s Burger (8oz custom Burger Blend topped with Swiss Cheese, Caramelized Onions & Aioli on a Brioche Bun)

    • Pincho Factory (Coral Gables, Hialeah, Westchester plus many more): You could go the tourist/rookie route and get the famed Toston Burger orrrrrrr…. get a Double Pincho Burger w/Cheese, Grilled Onions and Mustard. I know, I know, you can thank me later.

    • Proof (Midtown Miami): Isn’t Proof a Pizza joint? Yup. They also make a really killer Burger topped with White Cheddar Aioli and Caramelized Onions on a homemade Bun. It’s so good you’d wish it was only a Burger spot just so that they’d have a more fleshed out menu of these fellas.

    • Pubbelly (Miami Beach): Chef Mendin’s Le Royale with Cheese (Foie Gras, Black Truffle Jus & Gruyere Cheese) isn’t always on the menu so you need to stay vigilant on their social media for availability. Yes, it’s a little bit of work but when that first bite melts in your mouth you’ll see that it was well worth it.

    • Rock That Burger (Kendall): I loved these guys when they were the Yellow Submarine Food Truck for their Colombian Fast Food influenced flavors but they really came into their own with the Ring of Fire Burger (Grilled Onions, Grilled Jalapeños, Chipotle Aioli, Cheddar Cheese & Rock Sauce).

    • ROK Brgr (Delray Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Hallandale Beach or South Miami): Imagine Cave Aged Gruyère, Caramelized Onions, Garlic Aioli & a Fried Egg on a Burger. No, really imagine it…..Yes, it’s as good as you imagined, possibly even better. Yeah, it’s better than you imagined.

Rok Brgr’s Farmhouse Burger

    • Shake Shack (Boca Raton, Coral Gables & Miami Beach): Let’s skip pleasantries, order the Double Shackburger and wash it down with their Lemonade. Then get back in line and order another Burger because you can’t help yourself. Repeat until you pass out.

    • Swensen’s (Coral Gables): There are so many different Burger creations on Swensen’s menu I’d have to be crazy to list them all here. Instead, I’ll tell why you should eat the Parmesan Melt. Number 1 is that it’s an upgraded Patty Melt and number 2, the bread reminds of the old Sizzler’s Cheese Bread, ’nuff said.

    • Tucker Duke’s Lunchbox (Boca Raton & Deerfield Beach): I’ve been a fan of Tucker Duke’s since they first opened in Deerfield Beach and now I’m patiently waiting for a restaurant in Miami-Dade County. In the meantime, make the drive. Trust me.

  • Twisted Fork (Doral): The crust on the outside of this Burger is insane. The Ravenous Chef’s special Beef Blend is also great plus you add a slab of Guava to it and you’ll be in heaven. They’re not the first to do it but they may have perfected it.

Please leave your thoughts in the comments area. I know that Burger discussions can get heated and I’d love to hear what you think no matter how wrong you are :).

If you take the time to count you’ll see that there’s way more than 25 Burgers listed. Why? Cause Burger Beast’s Top 35 Burgers in South Florida list doesn’t have a good ring to it.

About Burger Beast

I started writing the Burger Beast food blog to tell folks about those little forgotten gems in South Florida. Over the course of the last 5 years or so I've added News, Opinions, & Tips on a variety of Food related subjects. My first love will always be Burgers but Comfort Food is where it's at. At the end of the day I’m a regular dude who writes about a bunch of things I think you should know about.
  • Chris DeBonis

The fact LE Tub was not mentioned is CRAZY

    • itsmyopinionsothere

Agreed list is weighted heavier to Miami, Coral Gables and South Dade. I would eliminate all not local chains too.

    • Al Zilinsky

      Totally agree…..Le Tub !

  • Mike Pancier Photo

would have added Beer and Burger Joint and Charhut
